After hearing about it on the news and reading about it all over the blogsphear I finally had 20 min. to watch Bono’s speach or as some are calling it “Bono’s greatest sermon yet”.  First off he is really funny.  The jokes he made about being there and being the rock star behind the pulpit were just plain funny.  I loved it.  But when he got serious he used the Bible to do what only it can, pierce you, divided marrow and bone.  Everything he said was dead on, he did say a few things to try and unite Islam, Judism and Christianity to get them behind the cause in Africa.  But his use and knowledge of Scripture was great and showed he didn’t use it just for his cause but that it came out of years of study and belief.  The question that comes out of it is, what are we going to do about it?  What are we going to about the problems of poor health conditions, starving nations, and HIV/ Aids destroying a continent?  This plaugues my body daily.  Where does Social Justice fit into the gospel?  How can I build the Kingdom of God and help these people not only in Africa but also in countries like Haiti, Costa Rica, Mexico, Jamaca?  As I was commenting on Dave Furguson’s blog on his post about Bono’s speach and the beginning stages of my attempt to help hit me.  The Bible says, “let your light shine and let them see your good deeds and glorify your God in heaven“, if we do serve these nations in the name of God and let them know it is because of Him that we do, we spread the gospel some much further than coming in and trying to preach every chance we get.

What are you going to do?
