Terry Storch recommended an idea that he picked up from someone else
that I pass now on to you and I leave you an example from mine.
Terry read from someone that good blogging habits include keeping a
journal or list of post ideas. I have a program that help with
outlining called Omni-Outliner (its a mac program) and I started to
keep a few ideas in one outline for my blog broken down by most of
the categories on my blog. A few weeks ago I was reading along in my
book and found this great thought that I want to share with you.
I am reading through Peter Druker’s book “The Daily Druker”. Its
like a spiritual devotional with daily reading but for managment and
leadership. On page 169, He talks about Managing Oneself. On this
day he asks a few questions he calls the keys to managing oneself (go
figure).
(1) Who am I?
(2) What are my strengths? (core-competencies)
(3) How do I work to acheive goals?
(4) What are my values?
(5) Where do I belong?
(6) Where do I not belong?
We all have to answer these questions for ourselves. He goes on to
say that the final and crucial step is feedback analysis. “Record
what you expect the results to be for every key action or key
desiscion you take, and then compare actual results ninemonths to a
year later with your expectations.”
